Indigenous art exhibition in a living home!
[Indigenous art exhibition was the second exhibition in year 2009 by Gudi. ]
Towards this 'Gudi - A heritage hut' situated at K. R. Road, Bangalore has taken a unique step to offer art and crafts for appreciation by the people. An 'Indigenous art exhibition' of art and crafts by the tribal and folks of India, artwork produced by the rural farmers of interior Karnataka in association with Gudi are being exhibited in a 'living home' which is a unique blend of exhibition and expression of the intent of the inmates to promote appreciation of art and crafts by the neighbourhood and like minded people.
Joining hands with Gudi to promote the art and craft work of tribal and folk of our country, Sri. ChandraShekar Kakal (Umesh Kakal, Heggodu) and family have offered their own living home for such an exhibition. The artists of Gudi have organised the artifacts in the 'living home' with care and diligence.
The exhibition displays the art work of human forms, animals, birds, plants and creepers created by tribal and folks from Bastar, the wall hangings of Santal community, terracota work from Kerala, Sandstone creations of Orissa, meticulously carved pillars of traditional homes from interior Karnataka, flowers and plants in brass and copper created by rural farmers of Karnataka, dress material made from handwoven clothes and many more varieties of art and crafts collated from different parts of India are on display at the premises.
